A commercial bank in Jiangsu is the country’s first prefecture-level joint-stock rural commercial bank, which was established on a voluntary basis by five rural small and medium-sized financial institutions within a city’s jurisdiction and in accordance with market-oriented principles with the consent of the State Council and the approval of the China Banking Regulatory Commission.
